The Little Fuzzies spy a fabulous looking car on the holiday tree and get a great idea to visit their cousins! But what will happen when they realize that the car isn’t real? How will they get to see their cousins during the holiday break?

What Level is Departure Delay?

Departure Delay is early elementary and can be played on the black keys. Students read by finger number and direction of notes. In the middle of the solo, the hand position changes and moves to the corresponding white keys, but a clear picture is shown, and the finger numbers are the same, so it will be an easy change. The smallest note value is the quarter note. There are accents, one staccato, and a fermata in the piece, so it’s a great way to introduce early level students to these symbols in a solo they will adore practicing! All dynamics, articulations, and markings are notated in solid pedagogical ways, making this a great piece to use during the holiday season in place of a method book piece.

Students already on the staff can benefit from this piece as well, reviewing finger numbers, rhythms, and markings in a more relaxing way since they don’t have to work as hard at reading the notes.

Bonus mp3 and QR Code for students

Departure Delay includes a bonus mp3 of this performance with your purchase. You may send this mp3 to your student to help them learn the piece and remember how it sounds.

Plus, a QR code is included on the first page of the PDF (not pictured in the sample) so students can scan the code and it will take them directly to the performance recording of the piece. This can help them be inspired and learn the piece even more effectively without you having to send the mp3 to them!
