The Little Fuzzies have vanished! They help us practice all year, but in December, they start disappearing until they are all gone. Where could they be?
This piece, like the original Little Fuzzies piece, is perfect for teaching by rote, while still encouraging reading. You can teach it by rote, reading. or a combination of Rote and Reading®. This means you can use this piece for many students at the same time. This is a great introduction to sharps and natural symbols.
What Level is Candy Cabin?
Candy Cabin is an early elementary piece that utilizes both black and white keys. The piece moves around the middle of the piano, but the pattern is identical each time. This makes it a wonderful way to ensure students have retained note names!
The smallest note value in the main piece is the quarter note. There is no key signature as the accidentals are written in. The articulations notated are staccato, and an accented staccato. The piece is carefully edited with pedagogical fingering and articulations, making this an excellent teaching or recital piece!
Bonus mp3 and QR Code for students
Candy Cabin includes a bonus mp3 of this performance with your purchase. You may send this mp3 to your student to help them learn the piece and remember how it sounds.
Plus, a QR code is included on the first page of the PDF (not pictured in the sample) so students can scan the code and it will take them directly to the performance recording of the piece. This can help them be inspired and learn the piece even more effectively without you having to send the mp3 to them!

Mindy Denigan –
What a perfect follow on piece to the original Little Fuzzies song! I am using this piece as an opportunity to drill into my students where to locate the D, G, and A keys, all the while having a bundle of fuzzy FUN!
The Little Fuzzies pieces have turned into tremendous motivators for my students, and they are ALL eager for the next Little Fuzzies adventure to play. Thank you, Wendy, for providing a piece which is a perfect transition from the first to the other pieces in the series. I truly value the teacher accompaniments, as they are a tool for me to gauge whether the piece is “30 Piece Challenge” worthy. Furthermore, the student can observe from the collaborative playing and self-identify as whether the piece needs more attention or if it meets the mark. The only disappointment (just a breath, that’s all) was that there wasn’t an accompaniment for this one. On the other hand, I acknowledge fully that you are busily creating many pieces!
