An Easter Egg “Hunt”? Hmmm, that sounds strange to the Little Fuzzies. Are the Easter Eggs aggressive? Sinister? Why are we hunting them?? The Fuzzies don’t know, but humans seem determined to find each and every one of these eggs, so the Fuzzies will be there to help!
These hilarious lyrics and suspicious-sounding harmonies of this piece will have students giggling – especially when the Little Fuzzies finally realize they’ve been tricked and the hunt is actually for treats!
What Level is Easter Egg Hunt?
Easter Egg Hunt is an elementary piano solo that is part of the Adventures of Little Fuzzies series. It is written in a minor, and has no accidentals. All hand positions are noted with a circled finger number, and the smallest note value is a quarter note. There is no pedaling. This piece sounds like a full piano solo thanks to four verses, but there are only two pages of music to learn because of the repeats. Students may opt to play some of the verses one octave higher for variation.
Staccatos mark the beginning and ending of phrases, which makes identifying the phrase easier for students. There are a number of lyrics in this piano solo, but the left hand holds a tie during these phrases so that all focus can be on the lyrics and right hand melody. Most of the notes in this Little Fuzzy solo go up or down by step, making it easier to play and read for those students who may still be working to learn the notes on the staff.
Bonus Mp3 and QR Code for students
Easter Egg Hunt includes a bonus mp3 of this performance with your purchase. You may send this mp3 to your student to help them learn the piece and remember how it sounds.
Plus, a QR code is included on the first page of the PDF (not pictured in the sample) so students can scan the code and it will take them directly to the performance recording of the piece. This can help them be inspired and learn the piece even more effectively without you having to send the mp3 to them!

Kelly Jenkins –
This is another winner among the Fuzzy songs – catchy, imaginative, surprising – but also has several specific skills included that go beyond the scope of the rest of the Fuzzy songs (at least to date). I find that students were eager to learn the new skills because they were so attached to the series already. Some of the new skills included were: playing four verses of lyrics, navigating a first and second ending, replacing finger 5 with finger 3 on the repeated quarter notes, restarting subsequent verses on a different finger than they originally used. But the kids get so attached to the song they are happy for the challenge! One 8 year old played the song 5 times a day – all 4 verses!!
