Back to School is an excellent way to expand students’ fluency in rhythm, sharps, and flats. Students won’t even know their learning is being stretched and strengthened because the story and fun motives will envelop them!
What Level is Back to School?
Back to School is an elementary piano solo that is part of the Adventures of Little Fuzzies series. It is written in C Major and is mostly in the middle C hand position. The smallest note value is the quarter note. Sharps and flats are all through the piece and are a great opportunity for students to learn about enharmonics. No pedaling is required. Fingering is indicated throughout. The largest interval is a third.

My studio has several hard-core Fuzzy fans and this is another Fabulous Fuzzy Adventure! We had to tweak fingering in the RH on page 2 because their little fingers struggled going from 3 on E-flat to 4 on F, so consider alternative depending on the ability of your Fuzzy fans. They’re eagerly adding Back to School to their achievement card collection and ready for more Fuzzy adventures! I’m thrilled these pieces are getting my young students excited and practicing!
