This August’s releases are so exciting because they’re not just filled with Music Kids Love®. We also created resources that will make your piano teaching more effective and motivating – which is something we could all use more of!

New Mythical Creatures
Sneaky Gnomes is a mid-elementary level piece. Students will love the silly lyrics and staccatos throughout the piece that sound just like gnome feet tiptoeing in the night! The rests in this piece can help with students who struggle to follow them. The rests are when the gnome has to hold still, or risk being caught – so students are invested in following them!
Elves Immortal is a mid-elementary level piece. It captures the mystery of elves with a mature sound that will make students sound more advanced. Pedaling is indicated throughout the entire piece, and held for long sections, making it attainable for students at this level.
New Pet Shop Series
Guinea Hugs is an elementary level piece with sweet lyrics all about a child’s love for their guinea pig (despite its tendency to be a bit messy!). Students are able to practice both staccato and legato phrasing within one piece, and multiple registers are explored with repeated motives – making students feel advanced.
Reptile Crush is an elementary level piece. Lyrics are about pets that no one else seems to like – perfect for any students who love slithery creatures! The end of the song gives students a chance to “slither” down multiple registers.
I Speak for the Birds is an elementary level piece. Lyrics make the use of slurs easier for students to “get”. The birds are offended by insults like “Eat like a bird” and “Dead as a Dodo” in these hilarious lyrics! Staccatos add to the sound of insolence these birds feel, and help students want to play with correct articulation because it adds to the feeling of the piece.
Rote and Reading®: Outback Adventures
Thorny Dragon is a mid-elementary piece. The piece mimics the silly walk of this animal, giving students a chance to see why playing with dynamics and articulation is key to communicating in a piece! Several left hand crossovers can be easily taught by rote.
Laughing Kookaburra is a mid-elementary piece that sounds just like the laugh of a kookaburra thanks to repeated staccato notes and fun lyrics! A fun improv section allows students to try and create a kookaburra’s laugh for themselves on the piano.
Koala Cuddles is a mid-elementary piece that perfectly captures the timid nature of these shy, adorable creatures. Pedaling is included in the second half of the piece. There is very little lifting of the pedal, making it a wonderful introduction to pedaling for students.
New Studio-License Release!
Letters from Abigail is a mid intermediate piece. This is a new studio-licensed release from the Inspiring Portraits series (previously only available as part of a printed book). This touching solo was inspired by the beautiful way that Abigail Adams used the tools available to her – words, ink, and paper – to help shape a country.

If you haven’t heard of our Music Minis™, you can find out why this resource has called a “game-changer” for teaching kids to focus and improve sight-reading here. Music Achievement Cards are a new resource that motivates students by reminding them of all they have learned! These “collector cards” can be used as motivators for students, as a way for them to look forward to more pieces in a series, or even to decorate your studio (they are beautiful!). There are so many fun ways to use these cards.
And, we’re doing something different with this resource: there are both digitally downloadable cards that you can print from your own home; and physical cards printed from our printer and shipped to you! The PDF cards can be printed over and over again for any student you teach. The printed cards are printed by our printer and sent to you – they look and feel like a little treasure in the hands, and are beautiful!
