New elementary piece with bonus unicorn coloring sheet

I have a little girl in my home that loves unicorns! So I had so much fun creating this piece about unicorns. And I’ll bet you can tell the artist had a fantastic time creating this stunning cover!

Features of this unicorn piece

This piece is early to mid elementary and features a beautiful, mesmerizing sound. The LH crosses over the RH in an easy way, always on the same note. So just tell your student to cross and point to C and they’ll nail it every time. The student holds the pedal (or the teacher can hold it for them) down the entire piece, so there’s no difficulty with pedal changes.

The “position” of this piece

Some teachers love positions and some hate them. So I think I’ve found a happy medium for this piece. There is a position, and the LH can sit comfortably in that familiar middle C position. But the right hand is just shifted a little to the right with the thumb on E. The hands stay in this position for the entire piece, except at the end and the LH crossings, so it still feels comfortable.

Plus, the notes that the RH and LH play are all…drum roll…skips (and some repeats of course)! So the entire piece becomes very familiar easily and is great for reinforcing intervallic reading.

Bonus unicorn coloring sheet!

But besides all the fun I had composing it and the artist had creating the cover, we had even more fun dreaming of and creating this bonus unicorn coloring sheet! And of course, with the studio license, you can make as many prints of the music or the coloring sheet for as many students as you directly teach!

Watch it here:

What’s included in my purchase?

  • Piano solo(s) with lyrics and teacher duet
  • Cover (we always include that)
  • Bonus coloring sheet

Plus, because this piece is studio licensed, you are permitted to print it and use it for ALL the students that you  directly teach. You can do this for your entire lifetime of teaching. That’s like getting an unlimited supply of a piece of Music Kids Love®!
