Space Adventures – Early to mid elementary
Pick Your Favorites – Early to mid elementary (middle C position)
Whither the Weather – Elementary (C position)
Birds and Bugs – Elementary (G position)
Dinosaur Days – Late elementary (2 in G position 1 in e minor. All have eighth notes)
Bonuses:
Your purchase of Elementary Short Sheets™ 2 comes with 5 high quality PDFs (3 pieces are in each PDF) and these include the covers as well. But in addition to this you’ll also receive a free mp3 performance track of each of the pieces (without voiceovers) to help your students learn the pieces. You are permitted to send these example performance tracks to your students to help them learn the piece.
You’ll also receive the Music Minis™ Giant Flashcards for this set of pieces. Read on to learn what these are!
Music Minis™ Bonus:
Your purchase includes a set of Music Minis™ – a set of giant flashcards that show the motive of each of these pieces. Show the corresponding motive card to your student before you teach the piece and play one of several games. This will help the student study the score and notice things about the music that they might normally overlook.
For example, ask the student to see how many “facts” they can name about the music in 1 minute. There are many variations on this game, but all help the student study the score, and process the music earlier to help their first attempt at playing to be more successful.
What are Short Sheets™?
Short Sheets™ are collections of 3 one page pieces to help motivate your busy students who need to learn music quickly. These sets of one pages pieces (including this Space Adventures collection) are excellent for:
- Online lessons (they are easy to teach)
- Summer lessons (they are fun and don’t take as much time to learn
- Sight reading
- Students with short attention spans,
- Young students who are afraid of lengthy pieces (you’d be surprised at how many of your student balk at 2 page pieces)
- Busy students (isn’t that all students these days?)
- Students who want to learn an awesome piece of music quickly
And as a teacher, you’ll love Short Sheets because you know that the more music students learn, the better their sight-reading skills!
What is the Studio License?
Elementary Short Sheets™ 2 is delivered digitally (through your email receipt) and is studio licensed. This means that you can print and use this for any student that you directly teach for your entire lifetime of teaching. It’s like getting an unlimited supply of Music Kids Love®!

The Music Minis that come with this bundle are simply brilliant. They are a game-changer for students who struggle with seeing patterns, or even the difference between line and space notes. I’m throwing the method book out for many students, now that I have I own all the short sheet sets, and so many fantastic solos from Wendy and Diane, my musical library runeth over, and my students couldn’t be more thrilled with the music they get to create.

I am so happy that I got the bundle. The pieces are so much fun and great for many levels of students. Many students can complete the pieces in 1 week.
The subjects are so much fun too!
You’ve done it again Wendy!!!

My students are thoroughly enjoying the short sheets. Even though they are one-page pieces, they are packed with so many wonderful musical concepts! The music minis that come with the pieces, give students an overview of what to expect in the upcoming pieces, but they are also great as stand-alone sight-reading exercises. Thank you Wendy for continuing to compose well-rounded pieces that my students love!
Nancy –
I love this fantastic bundle of Short Sheets to inspire and entertain my students. They love these so much that I’m using them as “rewards” for good work in other areas of study. The sound musical concepts, paired with such appealing subjects for kids, makes this bundle everything a teacher could ask for in this time of online burn-out. Many thanks, Wendy, for yet another great teaching resource from ComposeCreate !!
Anne Reese –
I recently bought the Short Sheets Bundle and have taught the Space Adventures set to one of my students. He really enjoyed the pieces and learned quickly because they are so engaging, accessible, and well written. A couple things that were new and especially fun for him were clusters and glissandos. Through these pieces, he also improved his reading and comfort level with playing in different registers. I look forward to teaching the other sets of Short Sheets soon! I know my students will benefit from them in many ways.

Another great hit with my students during this virtual lesson phase. The pieces are fun and creative! After playing through ‘Pick Your Favorites’ one student saw the titles from the Space Adventure trio and immediately wanted to play it next! What a great reaction!
There’s something for everyone.
This is a must have!!!

Short Sheets have completely changed the way I view teaching. Before finding this resource, I was stuck in the mindset that students should focus on their curriculum books (i.e. Piano Safari), but I couldn’t figure out why my students were not becoming proficient at playing (easy) music. I couldn’t find the answers to questions such as, “Why can’t my students sightread well?”
Short Sheets have offered an excellent solution to this problem! Now my students have access to fun, engaging music that explores the whole keyboard within a minute! I made the “mistake” of showing students my collection of Short Sheets. Now they can’t get enough of the music! Thank you, Wendy!!
Vivien Jackson –
My students love these pieces, Pick Your Favorites has gone down particularly well, especially with students who otherwise struggle to read music and has given them confidence in their playing abilities. It’s been wonderful to hear them singing along too. With all of these I find students are practising them over and above anything else I’ve set them and want to play them to me before even opening their tutor books or other pieces.
Vivien Jackson –
Sorry I forgot to say that the Space Adventures have also been a particular hit!

I don’t remember how I stumbled upon ComposeCreate online, but it has changed piano teaching forever for me. More importantly, your music has changed what piano lessons mean for my students! They are able to play pieces that are fun and exciting as well as expressive and beautiful. My beginners especially love the short sheets. One of my students insists on beginning every lesson by playing “One-Eyed Alien” over and over (and faster and faster). I actually have to ask her to stop!

I find the “Short Sheets” GREAT sight-reading builders. There is so much to note on each page, and I insist that the students read it all – expression, clapping rhythm and counting aloud when playing, phrasing, patterns, keys…..every aspect of the piece so that they form the habit of realizing that they must do MORE than just correct notes and hopefully rhythm in order to gain the ability to truly be a good sightreader!!!!. They love the pieces!
