Dinosaur Days includes three exciting pieces about dinosaurs for your late elementary piano students. The pieces are varied in style, but all contain a fantastically interesting motive, so your students will be hooked when they hear them. Plus, the short format of these Short Sheets® is especially motivating to students of all ages. These are “quick wins” certainly, but they are also pedagogically solid, so you can use these as substantial literature to teach and reinforce musical concepts.
Included are these one-page pieces:
- Pterodactyl Trouble
- Dinosaur Drift
- Smooth Move Dino
What Level is Dinosaur Days?
The three pieces in Dinosaur Days are late elementary. Two of the pieces are in G position and one of these pieces is in the key of E minor, but if fairly stationary. Sharps, flats, and naturals are all notated (no key signatures). No pedaling is required in this set of Short Sheets®.
What are Short Sheets®?
Short Sheets® are collections of three, one-page pieces to help motivate your busy students who need to learn music quickly. These sets of one pages pieces (including this Dinosaur Days collection) are excellent for:
- Online lessons (they are easy to teach)
- Summer lessons (they are fun and don’t take as much time to learn
- Sight reading
- Students with short attention spans,
- Young students who are afraid of lengthy pieces (you’d be surprised at how many of your student balk at 2 page pieces)
- Busy students (isn’t that all students these days?)
- Students who want to learn an awesome piece of music quickly
And as a teacher, you’ll love Short Sheets® because you know that the more music students learn, the better their sight-reading skills!
Are there bonuses to Dinosaur Days?
Yes!
When you purchase Dinosaur Days Short Sheets®, you will receive a bonus mp3 recording of each of these pieces. This can help your student learn the piece more quickly. You are permitted to send these example performance tracks to your students to help them learn the piece.

These pieces are so delightful I even have girls and boys playing them. The fact they are just one page makes them even more attractive with kid’s busy schedules.

I presented a student with Dinosaur Days last week. He likes what he knows and is usually reluctant to try new things. He LOVES pterodactyl trouble!. The offbeat chords and catchy rhythms are certainly inspiring him and sound so cool! Thanks Wendy

With a James Bond style feel, this music leaves the player and listener wondering what will happen to these bold birds as they carry out their plan.

I have some boys who are thrilled to play these! These are perfect for my “Wild About Music” showcase coming up next month. It’s my first year trying a mid-winter event, so I wanted something fun and impressive without being too labor intensive. These fit the bill perfectly!
