Troll Trouble is a big, booming piece with fun lyrics and a huge dynamic range. Both RH and LH are in bass clef for this solo, so it’s easy and fun to play loudly – just like a troll would! This is the sixth piece in our Mythical Creatures series (See Mythical Creatures Bundle 1 and Mythical Creatures bundle 2) and a great piece to expand the range of style for students who have been playing the more delicate pieces from this series.

Level of Troll Trouble
Troll Trouble is a mid-elementary piece. There are accidentals written throughout, but no key signature. The smallest note value is a quarter note, and there is no pedal. The piece is in 4/4, with a brief 3/4 in the B section.
The simple patterned LH makes the RH accidentals easily achievable for students who are new to playing both hands in the bass clef, along with the fingering that is written in.

What is a studio license?
Troll Trouble comes with a studio license which licenses the purchasing teacher to print as many copies as needed for any student they directly teach. So it is like getting an unlimited supply of this Music Kids Love® for yourself and your students. The studio license is not a multi-teacher license, so it can only be used by one teacher. However, the music and bonus can be used by as many students as the purchasing teacher directly instructs on a regular basis.

I have one student that has played more Wendy Stevens’ pieces than anyone. They just hit him right where it counts. He adores Troll Trouble. I thought it would take him quite a while to work this one out, but nope! He surprised me this week when he had it memorized after just a few lessons! He chose it to play at our next local festival, and I’m so excited to introduce this piece to those I work with at our local group!
