Space Adventures is a set of Short Sheets® all about space travel! Kids will love these exciting adventures about a one-eyed aliens, going to the moon, and blasting off! What Level is Space Adventures?
The pieces in Space Adventures are early to mid elementary. The first piece, One-Eyed Alien is a great transition between playing the black keys and the white keys. Even if students have moved to the white keys already, this is an excellent piece to show students the relationship of white to black keys on the staff.
The smallest note value in Space Adventures is the quarter note. Rests are minimized in the score to help with reading. Steps and skips are the primary interval. New notes that might not be familiar to students are actually named in the score. For example a C above middle C has a little C in the middle of the note to help students find this since they might not know it already.
Fingering is thorough in Space Adventures to help students be successful with finding notes, but not overused to detract from note reading. No pedaling is required.
