You knew I’d write a hedgehog piece, didn’t you? I’m sure you’ve noticed that I love the Hedgehog principle! But I also love hedgehogs. They are one of the cutest woodland creatures in my opinion! So I wanted to include a hedgehog piece in this new Woodland Creatures Rote and Reading® series!
Features of this hedgehog piece
This piece is pattern based and very easy to teach by rote. Students can also see what’s happening with the score which will aid them as they are learning to read music as well. The piece uses G A B in the LH and the two black keys in the RH. It uses fingers 2, 3, 4, which is the strongest part of the hand.
Bonus mp3s to send to students!
Lookin’ Sharp is pretty catchy so most students will remember it with the cues in the score. But we’re also including 2 mp3s that you can send to students who are learning the piece. Just attach them to an email and send it to their parents and students can listen during the week and be reminded how the hedgehog piece goes.
