Free “Ghastly” Halloween Advertising and Encouraging Cards

Halloween 2020 is going to be weird, isn’t it? Going door to door to trick or treat has been labeled as a “higher risk activity” by the CDC, so parents are struggling to figure out what to let their kids do to celebrate. Kids are disappointed that Halloween this year is not looking the same. Yes kids are resilient, but they are still experiencing great loss with the way things have changed.

But here’s something fun to do for both current students AND to help find new students!

Ghastly Beast is a brand new early level piece that’s kids and teachers are loving! It’s got all the things kids like in a piece – fun lyrics, a creepy sound, knocking on the piano, and a surprise ending. Plus, if you’ve seen it up close, you know that it’s got one of the best, most intriguing covers we’ve done at ComposeCreate. My kids stared at it for an exceptionally long time with huge smiles on their faces.

So we’ve created a special free resource for you to use to advertise your studio and/or encourage your students.

Here’s how:

Ghastly Beast Advertising Cards:

One of the less risky activities (labeled moderate risk by the CDC) is to put candy out on your doorstep so that kids can come by and get their treat without a 2-way interaction. If you are able to do that and know kids will be trick or treating in your area, here’s a great idea for marketing your studio!

Download these cards and then you can edit the main text to give information about your studio (plus attach an awesome piece of candy). If you teach lessons online, be sure to mention that. If you teach both online and in person, be sure to mention that as well. There are all kinds of needs and desires that parents have for their kids and piano lessons, so just letting them know about your studio is a great idea in these crazy times. Here’s an example:

Now, this probably goes without saying, but you must tape an amazing piece of candy to this card! Do not skimp and try to be frugal here. Great candy is a part of advertising costs for your studio, so choose the best candy that you know kids love!

Ghastly Beast Encouragement Cards:

As I said in the beginning, kids are resilient, but the changes in Halloween, summer vacations, schooling, and just every day life are a lot for kids to handle. They are under a lot of stress and are experiencing disappointment after disappointment this year.

So even though they might seem like they are doing fine, kids still need to be encouraged. To help with this, we’ve made separate Ghastly Beast Encouragement Cards for your students!

These cards have a different message at the top and you can write (or type) anything you want in the blank space. Write a short separate message to each student or just type a meaningful message that applies to all your kids and print!

It’s a super easy way to validate kids and encourage them during this difficult year!

  1. Wendy – when I click on the links to get the Ghastly Beast encouragement and/or advertising cards . . . nothing happens! All the other links work for me. I think these are great and would like to get them.

    Thank you!

  2. Hi Joyce, I’m so sorry that it wasn’t working for you. But I changed the type of form, so you should now be able to put in your first name, email and then click the button and it will arrive shortly!

  3. This year I’ll be giving each student a small Trick-or-Treat bucket. This will be a great addition to the bucket and candy. I was going to put a sticker with their name on the pumpkin, but this is more personalized. Love it! Thank you for helping to make Halloween special for our students!

  4. I’m hosting a Zoom Halloween playing class. I will drop off Halloween goody bags to the students before the event and plan to include these cards. Thanks so much for sharing them!
