What Level is Rockin’ Troll?
Rockin’ Troll is an early to mid-intermediate piece written in D minor. The left hand features a driving and fun boogie-woogie repetitive bass line. It is set in common time with a few interesting and fun moments in 6/8. There is no pedaling. Helpful fingerings are included. The smallest note value are sixteenth notes, which appear only occasionally.
This piece does contain accidentals that add to the “rock-n-roll” sound, and the bass line has a chromatic section. The piece includes pedagogical fingering to help even intermediate students learn and play more fluidly.
