MTNA 2016 Private Dinner for ComposeCreate Friends

If you are attending the 2016 MTNA conference in San Antonio, Texas, and you are a ComposeCreate follower, fan, or friend, then you are invited to a private ComposeCreate dinner on Sunday evening April 3rd! I also want to invite you to the session I’ll be giving on Saturday April 2nd at 2:15–3:15 p.m. It’s part of the Young Professionals track, but anyone can come (because Pedagogy Saturday attendees can jump tracks and attend any session they want). The session is called “Have You Forgotten What It’s Like To Be A Child?” and will give you all kinds of insights and tips into how children think, process, and how we can teach them more effectively. Details on the session will be forthcoming!

Dinner Sign Up Information

You don’t want to miss this fantastic opportunity to meet fellow creative teachers and discuss the new and exciting things you’ve learned during the MTNA 2016 conference! When we had the ComposeCreate dinner at NCKP in 2014, attendees (we had over 50 teachers) said it was the best part of the conference! The deadline to sign up and pay is March 16th. Seating is limited so be sure to sign up soon.

Rosario’s is a highly-recommended Tex-Mex restaurant with contemporary food, fun atmosphere and vibrant surroundings. I selected this restaurant for it’s private dining room, delicious menu and the chance to meet some of the best and most creative attendees at the conference (YOU!). There will be no program, I’ll just share a few thoughts from my heart and we’ll just enjoy each other! Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m.

The cost per person is $27 and this includes:

• A delicious dinner of chicken medallions topped with your choice of one specialty sauce– choose from Chipotle, María or Mole sauce – plus a delicious Enchilada de Queso. Sides include: Mexican Rice, Refried Beans and Pico de Gallo. Flour and corn tortillas will also be provided. Gluten free and vegan meals can be requested when you purchase the ticket below.
• A private dining room experience with your fellow teaching friends! (ComposeCreate is actually paying for the room, but it IS a big perk to be in a private room rather than just reserving a set of tables.)
• Building camaraderie with your fellow MTNA and ComposeCreate friends!
• Sharing, brainstorming, and learning from other creative and generous teachers who will be attending.
• Non-alcoholic drinks
• Dedicated wait staff (ComposeCreate is paying extra – more than the tip – to ensure that there is 1 waitstaff per 10 teachers)
• A 20% tip

The $27 does not include:

• Alcoholic drinks (However, we will be paying to provide a cash bar in the private dining room. You can pay the bar attendant if you want an alcoholic drink.)

Transportation:

Walking: Google Maps lists it as an easy 15 minute walk from the River Walk.

Riding: If you’d prefer to not walk, San Antonio has many transportation choices including Uber or hailing a cab from your hotel. If you’d like to reserve a taxi, please speak with your hotel concierge about taxi availability.

Rates aren’t guaranteed but current rates estimate between $4-$10 and you can always share an Uber with your conference friends!

Date and Time:

• Sunday, April 3rd
• 6:00-8:30 (Dinner will begin being served buffet style at 6:30.) You certainly don’t have to stay this long and there is no program planned, but we wanted to provide plenty of time for you to relax, talk with your neighbor, and meet anyone in the group of creative and lovely teachers!

Attire:

Please feel free to dress in casual attire! This is a casual restaurant.

How Do I Sign Up?

Simply purchase the $27 ticket below. We will be writing one huge check, so provided you do not purchase anything else or an item from the cash bar, your evening will be covered. After you purchase your ticket, you will receive a receipt from Paypal which you can use for tax purposes.

The deadline is March 16th and space is limited! No refunds will be issued after March 16th even if you do not attend.
