Introducing Short Sheets®!

In our recent survey, many of you told me how difficult it is to teach longer pieces with online lessons. You mentioned how students are “Zoom weary” right now and longer pieces just aren’t holding their attention spans. Plus, you said it’s challenging to teach a difficult fingering, motive, or technique with online lessons.

Plus it seems like it takes twice as long to teach a basic musical idea online.

So here’s something that will help all of that! Today we are introducing a brand new series of pieces! This series is called Short Sheets®, a series of one-page, pedagogically sound teaching pieces that are perfect for online and summer lessons [among many other applications…see below]. These pieces will make it much easier to teach solid pedagogy and keep students’ interest. Watch the video above for a quick summary.

Why are Short Sheets® so good for piano students right now?

You asked for easier and shorter pieces so that there are fewer details to teach! Your idea got me so excited because once I started composing these, I realized that there are so many other great reasons that these pieces are good for students right now. Here are just some of those reasons:

• These are easy to teach
• They are easy to learn
• They are great for sight reading
• Students who learn more and different pieces will become better readers
• They are fun and light hearted (but we also have some more serious one for older beginners)

What kind of students are Short Sheets® for?

But what really excites me is that almost every kind of student can benefit from quick one page pieces! Here are just some of the kinds of students who will benefit:

We will have lots of Short Sheet sets with all kinds of different themes and for different age groups [Feel free to leave comment or send me an email if you have a suggestion for a theme or set of students for which you’d love to see some Short Sheets®!]

Today, we are releasing 2 sets. Both are for early to mid elementary students, but one set will be especially enjoyed by kids and the other set will be especially enjoyed by older beginners and adults.
