This easy Doxology arrangement is perfect for beginning piano students who don’t want to sound like beginners. The melody is written in such a way that the rhythm is easy to learn, but the accompaniment makes it sound like more than just a simple arrangement. The small motive played throughout has a bell-like sound that provides a wonderful opportunity for articulation and expression.

Even the most elementary students want to sound more advanced (especially while playing for a church service)! This song helps them sound this way. The dynamics and legato melody of this easy Doxology add a level of sophistication, but the entire piece is in C position with a slight move down in the left hand. Adults and teens at this level will appreciate the mature sound.

The Level of this easy Doxology

The smallest note value in this arrangement is a quarter note, making it perfect for students who are new to the piano. There are ties used throughout the left hand, but in a pattern that makes it easy to teach by rote if needed. There is no pedaling in the piece (sustained notes provide a “finger pedaling” that adds to the full sound). The piece is in a modified middle C position (RH thumb on middle C. LH thumb on B).

The extended version of this easy Doxology explores a few registers on the piano, which adds to the mature sound, while the easier version is only two pages so it is less intimidating for young students.
