This is amazing! My high schooler Argentinian jazz lover (but early intermediate note reader) is captivated by it. Tonal and yet all the mystery of the Tchaikovsky Nutcracker Arabian Dance. And of course — the wise men were from — Chaldea? Persia? (Iran/Iraq?) Definitely an “Arabian” neighborhood. It makes the We Three Kings text come alive. And I love the way the melody of We Three Kings sneaks into the Arabian Dance just like it belongs! Which of course it does. Tonality is preserved and yet there’s a new mystery to this. You hit a home run with this one, Wendy!

I agree with the review above! I have a seventh grader learning this and just played it for me yesterday. She kept the left hand soft and I could sense she enjoyed playing
it. As a 7th grader she is more advanced
than my two high schoolers and can really
interpret the music well. A perfect combination of the Arabian Dance and We Three Kings!

The beautiful ostinato of the Arabian Dance in the left hand is such a perfect fit for the We Three Kings melody. The student working on this piece just loved playing it, it was easy to teach and it sounds harder than it is to play. Sure to be a student and audience pleaser.

When I saw this combination, I thought it was brilliant and had to listen to it. What a great way to combine two favourite pieces for the kids who love the minor sound! Wonderful ostinato and blending back and forth between the pieces. This one suits the early intermediate student who enjoys that sad, sad, sound.
