This quirky and fun arrangement of We Wish You a Merry Christmas is very easy to play. Students don’t even have to “know” how to play eighth notes since the melody is familiar. The intro, ending and interlude is easy to teach and helps piano students experience a slightly different hand position in a comfortable way.
What level is We Wish You a Merry Christmas?
We Wish You a Merry Christmas is elementary to late elementary level. The smallest note value is the eighth note, but elementary students not yet introduced to eighths can still play it since the eighth notes are only in the familiar melody. The added intro, interlude, and ending’s smallest note value is the quarter note.
We Wish You a Merry Christmas uses no pedal.
Articulations, slurs, and accidentals are all written in, making it an excellent teaching piece to help your students continue to progress through their holiday piano study.

One of my students played this piece for our Musical Advent Calendar. It is. A well-crafted and interesting solo

This is a great arrangement for first year students – it’s very comfortable to play, easy to learn with a combination of rote and reading, and best of all, it just sounds cool!

Zappy dapper – easy to memorize but with twist

I purchased ‘We Wish You a Merry Christmas’ and several of my students
thoroughly enjoyed learning and performing it! Wendy has added a catchy
motive that is interspersed through the music to make it sound very
festive. It is fun to play and it’s a great performance piece!

I have several students playing We Wish You a Merry Christmas. After they
figure out the intro and ending, they like it much better.
This piece introduced Introductions to students. I guess that I had not
done that before. I love the cute cover.

We Wish You a Merry Christmas was just the most excellent flashy little piece!
Lorraine –
These pieces were challenging. Challenging because of the stylization of the pieces. Students really had to listen to bring out the melody. I really enjoy the challenges you compose for them!

The chaos of the year shines through leaving spirits a little brighter. This song teaches weighted arm drops and releases.

This is an “add water and play” piece that is a universal favorite. The version with lyrics is the most user friendly.
