Mingling in Madrid is in C Major and set in triple meter. The left hand provides a waltz accompaniment pattern, and the right hand melody moves the piece forward with one scale pattern, chord inversions, and some flats. The left hand also contains some flats. Both hands play D flat Major and E flat Major chords at the ending.

The smallest note value in this piece is the eighth note. There is a short section with harmonic pedaling at the ending of the piece. The biggest interval is a seventh.
