What level is Just Past Finley’s Field?
Just Past Finley’s Field is mid elementary and is written in C Major. The largest interval is a seventh but this piece provides many opportunities to explore and become comfortable with sixths as well. The smallest note value is a quarter note. Pedaling is indicated throughout. Fingering is especially helpful and marked (by circling the finger number) where students need to shift their position.
The piece is carefully paced and the consistent half notes in the B section provide time and space for students to read ahead and get to know each interval (it explores them all).
