Beyond the Trail pieces are late elementary. The smallest note value is an eighth note. There is mild syncopation and tied notes throughout. All three pieces have an indicated key signature of D Major. Misty Falls and Shallow Creek have pedal indicated clearly. All three of the one-page pieces have pedagogical fingerings indicated.
