The August 20th webinar, “Fan and Fanatics! August 2024 New Music Bundle

- Four new pieces in the Beautiful Places series: These early and mid-elementary leveled pieces are contemplative, beautiful, and a great way for your student to explore artistry! These solos are visually uncluttered, but represent a way to build confidence reading. A summary of each piece is below.
- The Urgency Bundle: A follow-up to the late-elementary Energy Bundle, The Urgency Bundle contains three exciting late-elementary solos that get students ready to “level up” to early intermediate, and have fun doing it!
- Little Fuzzies: The Little Fuzzies head back to school in this new piece – but do they ever make it inside the school building? More info below!
- Inspiring Portraits: Morning at the Falls is an intermediate piece about the painter Thomas Moran, a member of the Hudson River School, who helped familiarize the people of the United States with the wonders of Yellowstone, which they found hard to believe without “seeing” it for themselves.
In Beautiful Places Bundle
Beneath the Tide: This lovely piece sounds like the shifting motion of the sea. Easy rhythms, small intervals, and simple pedaling will make this a favorite of kids, teens, and adults too!
Near Lawson’s Lake: Featuring a mature sound and 5ths, Near Lawson’s Lake is an easy choice for students who love sophisticated-sounding music without having to hustle. This gorgeous piece is wonderful for practicing ledger-line and bass clef reading!
Just Past Finley’s Field: Perfect for teens, adults, and pop-music lovers, this pattern-based piece will make true piano fans out of your students. With some flats, a slow glissando, and slight changes of hand position, Just Past Finley’s Field is satisfying for the student!
Under Luna’s Light: With a dramatic cover and pensive sound, Under Luna’s Light will entrance your piano students and allow them to “level up” their skills without noticing! This piece is in 3/4 time, and with easy black-key triads and finger-crossing, you can easily reinforce theory concepts for your progressing student.
Restless and Relentless: Like a nonstop thrill ride, this show piece features staccato, an awesome glissando and an irresistible rhythmic sound!
In the Nick of Time: This late-elementary piece is the least difficult of the bundle. In the Nick of Time is a great choice for a student who needs practice with coordination – and with opportunities for “do-able” dexterity, your student will find a new favorite!
Immediate Action Required: This early intermediate piece is an exciting choice for the advancing student who is a tentative about pieces that “look hard”. Although Immediate Action Required is in 12/8 time, the repeating patterns and alluring melody will help them overcome their fears – and become wonderful music-readers at the same time!
A NEW composer and NEW bundle of authentic jazz pieces – this is a big announcement! Our new jazz composer Jeremy Siskind has created three wonderful jazz pieces.
Gratitude: With a beautifully flowing melody and accompaniment, Gratitude is a lyrical authentic jazz late intermediate piece – but it also is uncluttered and filled with easy-to-grasp patterns.
Sizzle: Sizzle is a late intermediate blues piece with a walking bass pattern and a melody that features grace notes that emulate bending pitches.
Low Five: This mellow piece for spying sleuths has a relaxed, repetitive left hand pattern, making the 5/4 time signature less intimidating. Inspired by the famous tune “Take Five” by Dave Brubeck, but with a groovy, fun mood, Low Five is a wonderful change of pace for your early intermediate students.
New Smart Scales Edition!
Diane Hidy’s Smart Scales are a game-changer for teaching technique and musicality! This year, she’s created a new edition for your studio – white key minor scales. Morning at the Falls: a new installment of the Inspiring Portraits series, about Thomas Moran, the painter whose landscapes of Yellowstone helped to shape the world’s perception of our natural wonders.
