Invitation to Albuquerque

It seems MTNA has rolled back its registration rates this year because of the down economy.  Here is their invitation to the 2010 National MTNA Conference:

Take a trip down Route 66 as MTNA heads to Albuquerque, New Mexico, for the 2010 National Conference, March 20–24, at the Hyatt Regency and Albuquerque Convention Center.
Join MTNA and 2,000 of your friends and colleagues, as we present a program focused on the needs of today’s music teaching professional in one of the most beautiful parts of the country.

Surrounded by centuries-old pueblos and the Sandia Mountains, Albuquerque is known for its southwestern flair, arts and culture. With the desert landscape as its backdrop, Albuquerque is New Mexico’s largest city, yet has an easy, small-town feel. Featuring charming districts such as Old Town, along with art galleries and adobe structures, Albuquerque is one of the most unique cities in the country and a perfect setting for the 2010 MTNA National Conference.

Whether you’ve attended before or will be coming for the first time, there is truly something for everyone at MTNA’s annual national conference. An exciting evening recital bill will again highlight the conference. Pianist Kevin Kenner and cellist William De Rosa, the American Pianist Association Fellows and the winners of the Canadian and United States Chopin Piano Competitions will perform in recital on three separate nights. Pedagogy Saturday is back as a featured preconference event. Popular sessions such as the MTNA Technology, Recreational Music Making and Group Teaching and Collaborative Performance Tracks will be offered. Nearly 100 exhibitors will be on hand. The five-day event will also feature educational sessions, teaching demonstrations and master classes, industry showcases and exhibit hall demonstrations. And don’t forget about the national student competitions finals and winners concerts!

MTNA has rolled back the registration rates this year to make it more affordable for our members to attend. Register by February 10 to receive your early registration discount and be entered to win a free hot air balloon ride.

So, come network. Come learn. Come have fun. Come see us in Albuquerque!
