In the last year, I’ve read several good articles about how to attend a national music conference at budget prices. But, I have to admit that I had not thought of or seen anything like what I read today: Get your students’ families to sponsor you! This may not be exactly like what you are thinking, so I’d invite you to go read the article by Chad Twedt. He has some great ideas on how to make a national conference part of your plan for next year, and it doesn’t involve begging for money.
Some of the conferences you might want to consider are:
- National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy – in July of 2011
- MTNA National Conference (which is in NY for the 2012 year)
- University of Oklahoma Seminar for Piano Teachers
HT: MTNA
