Wagtime captures the joyful spirit of a dog wanting to play with you! Wagtime is a play on words for “ragtime” – and this piece certainly embodies the jaunty, syncopated, skipping and bouncing happy sound of the ragtime genre – and dogs in general!
What Level is Wagtime?
Wagtime is a late elementary level solo. The smallest note value is an eighth note and eighth rest. There is no pedaling. The piece is written in common time, and features syncopation. There are tied notes, staccato notes, and fermatas.
The piece is written in C Major. There are sharps and flats notated throughout. Solid pedagogical fingering is included.
Bonuses
With your purchase of the Wagtime studio license, you will receive a bonus mp3 recording of the piece performed by Jason Sifford. You are permitted to send this example performance track to your students to help them learn the piece.
Plus, a QR code is included on the first page of the PDF (not pictured in the sample) so students can scan the code and it will take them directly to the performance recording of the piece. This can help them be inspired and learn the piece even more effectively without you having to send the mp3 to them!
What is the Studio License?
Wagtime is delivered digitally (through your email receipt) and is studio licensed. This means that you can print and use these for any student that you directly teach for your entire lifetime of teaching.

Kathleen B. Isberg –
A delightul and easily learned take on ‘ragtime’ rhythms. Gave this to my adult student as a fun piece and a break from Bach minuets and preludes. She loves it.
