Aubrey Triplett –
I HIGHLY recommend this bundle from Wendy Stevens!!!! I have a 6 and 8 year old student who started working on these pieces two weeks ago and absolutely LOVE what I selected for them. I purchased a glow-in-the-dark spider to use with Something in My Piano (for the little boy) and the smile on his face when the spider “jumped” out of the piano was priceless. He loves playing all over the keyboard in this piece. He came to his lesson the week after I gave him the piece and proudly exclaimed, “I have the beginning memorized and don’t need the notes at all!!!” You Don’t Scare Me Now is another personal favorite. My girl student loves the the tapping, snapping, and stomping excerpts of the piece. She can be a bit fidgety on the bench, but the added elements of motion/movement to be executed in between notes has captured her attention to such a level that has encouraged stillness throughout the rest of the piece.
These two pieces are perfect for capturing the attention of young students. They are creative, fun, and structured in such a way that teaches the young student independence of playing in multiple registers.
Thank you, Miss Wendy (of whom I have had the extreme pleasure of meeting)!!!!
