Tessa –
I have my recitals at a local Assisted Living place and this year I wanted to try this new audience participation piece. I wasn’t sure how it would be received, but I was VERY pleasantly surprised! I had my students gather round the piano before starting the piece and quickly instructed the audience on the rhythm. (Before the recital started, I taught my students the rhythm). I started playing and the audience and my students did a great job! I was so excited! They LOVED it!
