Greedy, sneaky, and guilty of a sweet tooth that drives them to bad manners – these goblins need to keep their greed in check! Students will love the clever lyrics, and teachers will love that Greedy Goblins is a wonderful practice opportunity for both staccatos and legato phrasing. An especially fun aspect of this piece is that the tempo gets faster after a time signature change, giving students the opportunity to sing more and more frantically as they try to keep the goblins away!
Level of Greedy Goblins
Greedy Goblins is an elementary level piece written in a Hungarian minor. All accidentals are notated. Multiple registers are explored, but with repeating patterns from the piece. The smallest note value is a quarter note. There are a lot of dynamic markings that fit in perfectly with the lyrics. Helpful fingerings are included, and any hand position changes are indicated with a circled finger number so that students can differentiate between a finger number or full hand position change.
Greedy Goblins begins in 4/4, and then changes to triple meter, and bak to 4/4 again. This can be a wonderful introduction to time signature changes because of the triple meter section utilizing a single repeated pattern before going back to 4/4 again. There is no pedaling.
Bonus
As with all ComposeCreate® music, Greedy Goblins comes with the creative and fun cover. But we also include an mp3 recording of the composer playing the piece. This can help inspire and help students learn the piece quickly during the short Halloween season.
What is a studio license?
Greedy Goblins comes with a studio license which licenses the purchasing teacher to print as many copies as needed for any student they directly teach. So it is like getting an unlimited supply of this Music Kids Love® for yourself and your students. The studio license is not a multi-teacher license, so it can only be used by one teacher. However, the music and bonus can be used by as many students as the purchasing teacher directly instructs on a regular basis.
