Easy Recipes for the Busy Piano Teacher – Recipe #8 Salisbury Steak

I spent a bit of my summer trying to find some new, easy recipes that I could share for this Easy Recipes for Busy Piano Teachers series. But, I was sadly disappointed in many of them and didn’t deem them delicious enough to write about. However, I have recently discovered a few more that thrilled me with how easy they were!

Crockpot Salisbury Steak

Ingredients:

  • 2 lb hamburger
  • 1/2 C. Italian bread crumbs
  • 1 pkg dry onion soup mix
  • 1/4 C. milk
  • 2 cans Cream of Mushroom soup (98% fat free works great!)
  • 1 package au jus soup mix (in the flavor packet section)
  • Potatoes, pierced with a knife or fork

Crockpot salisbury steakDirections:

Mix/knead the hamburger, bread crumbs, onion soup mix, and milk together in a bowl. Shape into hamburger patties. If you want (but I found this was an extra step that didn’t make a big difference), you can put a little flour on the patties and then quickly brown them in oil before putting them in the crockpot.

Mix the soup and au jus flavoring together. Place hamburger patties in the crockpot, alternating them like you are stacking a pyramid. Pour 1/2 of the sauce over the top. Place potatoes around the beef patties. Pour the remaining sauce on top of these.

Cook on low for about 4 hours or until the beef is done. Serve the potatoes with the gravy.

My whole family liked this one.
