Easy Recipes for the Busy Piano Teacher – Recipe #6 Baked Ravioli

It doesn’t get any easier than this! You’ll have to set a timer to remind you to put it in the oven (or have your family do it for you). But, I’ve served this very easy recipe to guests and they all rave about it and think I spent lots of time cooking!  This is the 6th recipe in our “Easy Recipes for the Busy Piano Teacher” series, but stay tuned for the 7th! Only newsletter subscribers will receive the 7th recipe! So sign up for the newsletter today and you’ll get your special link to my all time favorite easy recipe!

Baked Ravioli for the Busy Piano Teacher

Ingredients:

  • 1 jar or large can of spaghetti sauce (any flavor)
  • 1 bag (about 25 oz.) frozen beef, chicken, or cheese ravioli
  • 2 C Mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 C Parmesan cheese

Optional ingredients:

  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 1 tsp. basil
  • 3-4 cloves of garlic (you can just put in a teaspoon of garlic powder too)
  • 1/2 lb. cooked sweet italian sausage (or any kind of meat that you like with your pasta)
baked ravioli
Uncooked, but assembled baked ravioli

Directions:

Combine your optional ingredients with your spaghetti sauce and simmer if you want (you don’t have to). Spoon a bit of the sauce in the bottom of a 9 x 13 glass dish. Place half of the frozen ravioli in the dish. Spoon about half of the sauce on top. Place 1 C of mozzarella cheese on top. Repeat this layering, adding the parmesan cheese on the top. (I also put a little seasonings on the top of the cheese).

Cover cook right away OR store in the fridge for the afternoon. Place the dish in the oven at 400 degrees for 30 minutes. Then, uncover the dish and cook an additional 10-15 minutes at 425 or until the cheese is a little brown on top.

Recipe Notes:

There’s something amazingly yummy about browned cheese. I’ve made this several times and thought that I had burned it, but it was even better with the browned cheese.

  1. YUM! I am definitely trying this one out. At our house, a baked dish wasn’t considered ready until the cheese was turning golden brown. I cook the same way now. 🙂
