What level is The Ancient Pine?

The Ancient Pine is a mid-intermediate piece written in common time and set in F Major. The smallest note value is the eighth note. The largest interval is a seventh. Seventh chords appear frequently in the piece, as do chord inversions. There are also multiple opportunities for the left hand to practice crossings in a flowing pattern that prepares students for the music of Chopin. Legato pedaling is indicated throughout. The piece is carefully edited with pedagogical fingering and articulations, making this an excellent teaching or recital piece!
