Strength begins with a resounding fortississimo chord cluster deep in the bass register of the piano, and just picks up from there! With hulking unison sections, gargantuan dynamics, and sonorous passages, Strength makes a tremendous, showstopping splash but is still accessible to play for the intermediate pianist!

Level of Strength

Strength is a mid-intermediate piano solo that floats between C Major and C minor. The piece is in cut time and the smallest note value is the eighth note. There is one instance of a grace note in both hands. There is a section of chromatically ascending triads that require attention to detail. The largest interval in the piece is an octave.

Indicated dynamics and suggestions for tempo changes give expression to the piece. Pedagogically helpful fingering is indicated. Pedaling is indicated throughout the piece.
