Whether you’re talking about the tiny sputtering of snow, or the beautiful flowers that are often the first to make their appearance after a drab winter, Snowdrops perfectly reflects finding beauty amidst the glum and dreariness that winter often brings. Maybe your students are picturing a little flurry of snow being tossed into the air and then coming to rest on a gray world. Or, maybe they picture a flower making the slow and difficult push through the soil into a waiting world. Either way, in Snowdrops, there are opportunities for students to practice telling a story with their playing, experimenting with how the sound changes depending on which storyline they choose.
What is the Level of Snowdrops?
Snowdrops is a early intermediate piece written in e minor (a key signature is given). The smallest note value is an eighth note. Pedal markings are included throughout the piece. Fingering and dynamics are written in. There are a few accidentals written. The piece is written in triple meter, and the left hand plays in both the treble and bass clef. There are several crossovers that create the sound of glistening snowdrops, and allow students to play across many registers.
What is a Studio License?
Snowdrops is available as a studio license which means that you only have to purchase it one time, and you are then licensed to print as many prints as you need for yourself or any student you directly teach! It’s like getting an unlimited supply of the piece since you never have to pay for it again. Plus there is no shipping. You get the PDF and bonus mp3 in your email within minutes of your purchase.
Free Bonus Recording
Snowdrops also comes with a free mp3 recording so that you can listen and learn the piece more easily. You are granted permission to share this file with your students that are learning the piece.

One of my mid-late intermediate adult students wanted something beautiful, unique, and not as taxing as her level because of holiday busyness. I sent her a link to hear Snowdrops, and figured I’d get the studio license if she liked it. She loved it! And couldn’t even wait to let me know. She purchased it herself so she could play it immediately! (I’ve since purchased it for my other students.) What a lovely piece. Play it at the holidays, all winter, play it in summer when you long for chilly nights, snuggly sweaters, and falling snow!

Several students have loved this piece lately, and its easily recognizeable patterns mean that most can learn it pretty quickly. It’s the perfect piece to assign to those students who need regular “quick wins”, especially at this time of the year. Such a beautiful piece that I love sharing with my students.

I am an older adult whose one dream was to learn the piano. When you were raised by a single mum you learnt very early to dream but never to ask . Now I am living my dream and this piece brought tears of joy . A beautiful gentle piece that is joyful to play ! Thank you Wendy.

Snowdrops is lovely – My early intermediate students were entranced! It will be a quick learn for you, so it serves as a short-term goal/reward for them – plus it sounds so pretty, so it’s motivating – Mom’s love it too!

A sophisticated piece with “all the good notes” 🙂 A lovely lyrical piece with descending bass line and beautifully patterned B section.
