It’s party time for the sketchy skeletons, and they’re working on their jazzy dance moves in this fun and groovy piece. With fun arpeggios and staccato sections simulating the clattering bones of the skeletons, intermediate pianists will have a grand time imagining what exactly makes these skeletons so sketchy!
Level of Sketchy Skeletons
Sketchy Skeletons is an early intermediate piece written in A minor. The smallest note value is a sixteenth note, although those appear in the introduction only. This piece is written in common time. The B section features legato pedaling.
This piece is a wonderful opportunity to showcase changes in moods. The A section features a unison tune with staccato in both hands, accent marks, and arpeggios. Then, the B section has a contrasting mood, with a legato sound, pedaling, and syncopation.
Dynamics are indicated. This piece is carefully edited with pedagogical fingering and articulations, making it an excellent teaching or recital piece!
Bonus mp3 and QR Code for students
Sketchy Skeletons includes a bonus mp3 of this performance with your purchase. You may send this mp3 to your student to help them learn the piece and remember how it sounds.
Plus, a QR code is included on the first page of the PDF (not pictured in the sample) so students can scan the code and it will take them directly to the performance recording of the piece. This can help them be inspired and learn the piece even more effectively without you having to send the mp3 to them!
As with all our music, the fun cover is also included!
What is a studio license?
Sketchy Skeletons comes with a studio license which licenses the purchasing teacher to print as many copies as needed for any student they directly teach. So it is like getting an unlimited supply of this Music Kids Love® for yourself and your students. The studio license is not a multi-teacher license, so it can only be used by one teacher. However, the music and bonus can be used by as many students as the purchasing teacher directly instructs on a regular basis.

Sharon Girard –
Sketchy Skeletons is one of those pieces that is actually easier than it looks. It is in ABA form, complete with a an easy dramatic melody in both hands leading to very cool chords and back to the dramatic melody leading to a climatic ending.
