I LOVE my new Brother MFC-6490CW printer! It is an all in one printer that enables me to do everything I have wanted as a piano teacher. Here’s how I am currently using the printer:
- I can print on both 8.5×11 and 11×17 paper, which will save me a bundle in printing recital programs.
- It prints color or black and white.
- It can scan to a pdf or a tiff and stores it directly to my hard drive.
- Scanning is super fast and can scan up to 6000 x 1200 dpi resolution. I have never been able to scan things more quickly at home than with this machine.
- It is a fax machine.
- It is a great copier.
- Of course it can print photos directly from your media card too, but I haven’t tried this feature yet.
- It has a high-yield 4 cartridge ink system so I can just replace the color I am low on.
- It has built in wireless so it easily connected to my computer.
- List price is only $299 for all of these features, but you can often find them on sale for $250 at office supply stores.
I’m sure there are more things that it can do, but those are the things I have needed for a long time. The print quality is excellent, though not quite as good as my black and white laser printer. This has been the best investment that I have made for my piano studio in years.
The only thing it can’t do is laminate!
