Giant Music Interval Flashcards

For years, teachers have been using the ComposeCreate Giant Flashcards in piano lessons and classrooms to help students see the notes more clearly. It’s been especially helpful in classrooms since it’s virtually impossible to see a regular-sized flashcards from the middle and back rows.

Online piano teaching has made giant music flashcards especially helpful since you don’t have to bring the flashcards nearly so close to the camera!

So I’m excited to tell you that I’ve created Giant Music Interval Flashcards for you!

There are four sets of flashcards that we’re giving you for free:

  • Melodic treble intervals
  • Melodic bass intervals
  • Harmonic treble intervals
  • Harmonic bass intervals

Some of the features of these Giant Music Interval Flashcards include:

  • These are giant – the entire staff fills up the entire page (8.5×11)
  • Ledger lines – notes 2 ledger lines above and below the staff are included
  • Plenty of intervals – each set includes at least 6 examples of each interval kind
  • Intervals included – 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th

A few recommendations for you:

  1. Sometimes it’s easy to have an entire drawer full of flashcards, but not really have them organized in a useful way. Keep these organized and close to your piano so that you can pull them out and use them whenever needed.
  2. If you need a set that has only 2nds and 3rds and another set that has 2nds, 3rds, 4ths and 5ths, just make more prints of the cards that you need!
  3. Some teachers have asked why we don’t have a back side to these cards and it’s simply because too many printers skip pages when printing dual sided, leaving you with an entire set of cards that have the wrong answer on the back! Wasted paper and lots of frustration is not what we want. So instead, we recommend that you take 3 minutes to just lightly write the answer to the card on the back with a pencil. Then, you don’t even need to look at the card to know what answer the student should be saying. No more neck strain!

I hope these are helpful. Leave a note in the comments to let us know.

Or better yet, send this URL to your piano teaching friends so they can download them too. The more piano teachers that download this, the more resources and fuel we have to create things like this for everyone!
