Join the argument between two monsters in Monster Melt as they duke it out in an epic squabble! Monster Melt is an elementary solo where the right and left hand seem to be having an irritating interaction – more could be said, but we think students will love to use their imaginations to bring these melting monsters to life!
What level is Monster Melt?
Monster Melt is an elementary level piece. The tonality of the piece is in D minor, with regularly appearing B flats, plus other accidentals to give chromatic flavor to the piece. This piece has articulations like staccato and accent marks, and dynamics. There is no pedaling in this piece.
Students will enjoy being heavy-handed (literally) with expression markings like “very heavy,” “molto rit.,” with dynamics ranging from piano to forte. Careful editing is applied to fingerings, articulations, and more in Monster Melt – making it a wonderful recital piece!
