Throw on your classic sunglasses and get ready to nocturnally boogie with the bats in this late elementary piano piece! With a funky and bluesy sound, Boogie Blue Bats takes the classic 12 bar blues tune and gives it a fresh twist – perfect for older students and teens!
Level of Boogie Blue Bats
Boogie Blue Bats is a late elementary piece written in C Major written in cut time. The smallest note value is a quarter note. The largest interval is a fifth, and the piece has many harmonic fourths in the right hand. There are accidentals throughout to give a “blue note” sound.
This piece is wonderful practice for playing articulations. Left hand is indicated to play legato, where right hand plays staccato with the occasional accent marks to highlight syncopation. Dynamics are indicated. This piece is carefully edited with pedagogical fingering and articulations, making it an excellent teaching or recital piece for late elementary or even early intermediate students who want to play fast and constantly!
Bonus mp3 and QR Code for students
Boogie Blue Bats includes a bonus mp3 of this performance with your purchase. You may send this mp3 to your student to help them learn the piece and remember how it sounds.
Plus, a QR code is included on the first page of the PDF (not pictured in the sample) so students can scan the code and it will take them directly to the performance recording of the piece. This can help them be inspired and learn the piece even more effectively without you having to send the mp3 to them!
As with all our music, the fun cover is also included!
What is a studio license?
Boogie Blue Bats comes with a studio license which licenses the purchasing teacher to print as many copies as needed for any student they directly teach. So it is like getting an unlimited supply of this Music Kids Love® for yourself and your students. The studio license is not a multi-teacher license, so it can only be used by one teacher. However, the music and bonus can be used by as many students as the purchasing teacher directly instructs on a regular basis.

Sharon Girard –
A great elementary pice for students who love pieces with a jazzy sound. The left hand bass notes with its syncopation compliment the blues chords in the right hand. Great jazzy ending.
