Advice for Beginner Composers

This is a wonderful collection of advice from Ira Glass, writer and host of This American Life. It’s great advice to the young songwriters that I trained last week, and even continues to be good advice for me though more experienced in composing.

  1. Isn’t this the case with most everything? I’ve been finding that with creating a Music Camp, even though I have some excellent help through other teacher’s websites and games – it’s still ME that has to make it happen! So glad I had an excellent school teacher help me with lesson plans – to even know how and where to start. She’s excellent with “big picture” and I am better with the “small and individual;” she mentored me well; this year isn’t so scary!
In fact, I’m already thinking ahead to next year.
Oh, back to the Day Plans!
