Fuzzy Facts is a hilarious early to mid elementary piano solo about the “scientific” benefits of owning a cat. It’s perfect for piano students who have a pet cat, want a cat, or just want to play a song with funny lyrics. The lyrics are limericks that discuss how owning a kitty can lower your stress, make you more attractive, and more!
The level of Fuzzy Facts
Fuzzy Facts is early to mid elementary. The smallest note value is the quarter note. There are flats in the piece, but they are written in so there is no key signature to be concerned with. The piece begins in middle C position, but the piece explores 5 octaves of the piano in an easy way.
This piece uses the damper pedal in 3 places, but this pedaling is optional. The piece is carefully articulated with slurs and staccatos to make it a perfect teaching piece for this level.
Fuzzy Facts comes with a bonus!
In addition to receiving the music and the cover (this is always included for ComposeCreate pieces), you’ll also receive one free mp3 recording of Fuzzy Facts. You are permitted to send this recording to your students who are working on the piece to help them learn it more quickly at home.
Part of the New Pet Shop Series
Fuzzy Facts is one of many pieces in the new Pet Shop Series, a series of piano solos about beloved pets. Each piece contains an adorable cover that comes with your purchase. This series includes (as of January 2020 – there will be more in the years to come):
- Fuzzy Facts (a cat piece) – That’s this piece!
- Go With You (a dog piece)
- Through the Glass (a fish piece)
LeeAnn –
My student who I purchased Fuzzy Facts for has a cat who sits and listens to her practice. She absolutely loved the song and is playing it for spring recital. Thanks, Wendy!! Definitely 5 stars!!
Bonnie –
I have several cat, dog, goldfish lovers in my studio! They can’t decide on which one they like better! Get all three, kids love ’em. I like the humor in them and so do my students. Make piano lessons fun while learning!
Nancy Gilbert –
“Fuzzy Facts” swept through the studio earlier in the year! The lyrics are hilarious! Kids loved to sing along.
Lynda –
I bought this for a pupil who has a neighbourhood cat that seems to have taken up residence in their home. The cat frequently appears during our online piano lessons. This piece came just at the right time – thoroughly enjoyed by the whole family.
