These piano arrangements of O Come, O Come Emmanuel, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen and Carol of the Bells are easy to play. Yet they have a mature melancholy sound that makes even elementary piano students sound much more mature.

God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen

This mysterious elementary arrangement falls easily in students hands and is good for students who are just beginning to be comfortable playing just outside the traditional hand positions. Carefully fingers to ensure easy of playing, this arrangement of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen will make the elementary student sound mature beyond their years if they are a child, or appropriately mature if they are an adult. Sensitive piano students and adults particularly enjoy this piece.

O Come O Come Emmanuel

This is an easy arrangement (easier than God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen) that effectively uses pedal throughout the piece, though it is not a pentatonic tune. Haunting and mysterious, this arrangement is great for sensitive students or older students who are just beginners

Carol of the Bells

The score of Carol of the Bells is usually quite scary for an elementary piano student. But this score has no eighth notes or unnecessary rests or slurs to scare your student! Plus it is easy to play and sound quite big!

  1. Debra Pointer

I purchased this bundle of these 3 classics because I am always looking to update Christmas selections for my students. These elementary and late-elementary arrangements are “classically Wendy” as she continues to compose for each level of pianists. While “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” is for late-elementary students, her use of octaves and mature tones will be intriguing and captivating. I love how her clear notations and clef changes will allow me to use this piece as a useful mapping tool with my students. The pedaling is simple at this level and does not distract from the tones or voicing. I also plan to use this as a sight-reading piece, too.
“O Come O Come Emmanuel” is my all-time favorite Christmas piece, so I look for different arrangement levels so I can introduce it to all my students. Wendy’s arrangement is easy to read and clearly notated – as always. Her use of octaves brings a level of maturity to this piece that makes it sound more-difficult, so it can be used in so many holiday settings. I know my older and adult elementary level students will love being able to play this piece and I am excited to make it available to them.
Every student, no matter what level, wants to play “Carol of the Bells”. It is my students’ most-requested holiday piece, but it is difficult to find at an elementary level that doesn’t sound too basic. Wendy’s composition solves this issue and I look forward to seeing the smiles on my students’ faces when I present it to them next week. Each will be excited to play using different octaves and her brilliant arrangement without the use of eighth notes makes it sound harder than it is. While the 6/4 time signature may make some students pause at attempting this piece, I look forward to using it as a teaching tool, as well.
Again, her studio license option for teachers is one that I continue to appreciate. Thank you, again.

  2. Sarah Stevens

I love the originality of Wendy’s Christmas pieces. They are so tastefully arranged and different from the standard Christmas repertoire book. I had several of my students perform her arrangements this year at our Christmas recital. Thank you for providing such beautiful arrangements!

  3. Karen Amberson

I purchased this bundle specifically for one of my younger students who really wanted to play Carol of the Bells. He has small hands and not only has Wendy’s arrangement made it possible for him to play it, but it sounds rich and full, not babyish. He loves it and so do I! I also have a student playing the beautifully mysterious sounding God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. Again, it’s within her reach because of Wendy’s unique ability to arrange the music in such a creative way. This is my go to place when I need to find high quality, accessible music for my kiddos.

  4. Narilyn

I purchased this bundle because Wendy’s arrangements have a big sound even for elementary students. They are easy to learn and I feel students should be able to play several Christmas songs without struggling to learn them.

  5. Kathy

I purchases 2 Christmas bundles, and many other pieces of Wendy’s. I absolutely LOVE how she composes/arranges awesome sounding music for my beginners! We are having a great time learning them. Thanks Wendy, especially for selling these as studio license so I can continue to afford and provide them for my students.

  6. Karen Long

I have a 10yo beginner student who really wanted to play Carol of the Bells — so I purchased this bundle. My student is LOVING it! This is a perfect arrangement for a beginning student. It’s easy, but sounds mature.

  7. Stephanie Freeman

My older beginners absolutely love these pieces. They are so happy to play something that sounds more impressive and “bigger”. One of my student’s is playing Carol of the Bells for recital but another student had a lot of trouble with 6/4 time. He just couldn’t catch on. But, he loves your other pieces for older beginners.
