Pantone Color of the Year – Coral 30 and 40 Piece Challenge Charts!

Pantone Coral 30 and 40 Piece Challenge Charts - ComposeCreate.com

I fell in love with Pantone’s color of the year for 2019. It’s a beautiful coral color and just seems perfect for a new color set for fresh 30 an 40 piece challenge charts. I love what Pantone says about how and why they select they colors they do:

For 20 years, Pantone’s Color of the Year has influenced product development and purchasing decisions in multiple industries, including fashion, home furnishings, and industrial design, as well as product, packaging, and graphic design.

The Color of the Year selection process requires thoughtful consideration and trend analysis. To arrive at the selection each year, Pantone’s color experts at the Pantone Color Institute comb the world looking for new color influences. This can include the entertainment industry and films in production, traveling art collections and new artists, fashion, all areas of design, popular travel destinations, as well as new lifestyles, playstyles, and socio-economic conditions. Influences may also stem from new technologies, materials, textures, and effects that impact color, relevant social media platforms and even upcoming sporting events that capture worldwide attention.

I had no idea that so much went into selecting the color of the year, but hearing their analysis makes me think everything should be in this color this year!

I love that it’s not pink and it’s not orange. It’s the beauty that lies between them.

These Coral 30 and 40 Piece Challenge Charts are Editable

Of course, you can always print out and write in students’ names. But you can also now type in your students names and then print them for a very professional look!

How to add students’ names:

  1. Click on the button to download (enter your first name and email and then click the download button and you’ll get an email.)
  2. Click on the download link in the email that arrives to download.
  3. Open these PDFs in Adobe Reader.
  4. On page 4 (if you want the 30 piece challenge) and 8 (if you are using the 40 piece challenge), click in the top field for your students name.
  5. Type in your students name there!
  6. The font size will auto adjust to the number of letters in the student’s name. So, if you have students with really long names, then you’ll want to make the font size smaller for those with short names. To do that, all you have to do is add extra spaces at the end of the short-named students.

This is last year’s video on how to edit, but it works the same way with this year’s charts:

How to find music for the 30 and 40 piece challenge:

Short Sheets™ are perfect for this challenge because they are one-page pieces that students can learn quickly, but still are pedagogically sound. So you can use Short Sheets™ music below, at or above the students level to help them learn more music while they are also learning the bigger pieces you have assigned.

The Free Student Solutions Catalog helps you find music specific to student problems, needs, or interests. It’s a catalog unlike any piano pedagogy catalog available today!
