Free Snowman Flashcards

Recently, a reader asked me how I use my snowman flashcards (Download them FREE below).  So, I thought I’d re-post an article I wrote last year about how I use them:

FREE snowman flashcards to review note names, white keys, intervals and more. | composecreate.com Since winter is just around the corner and in many places already here, I thought I’d point out some seasonal flashcards on the composecreate website.  I use these types of activities while my students are waiting on siblings or during the lesson to reinforce concepts.

Snowman Note Names –These flashcards drill note names.  Print these out on cardstock, then cut the bottom snowball off of the snowman.  The student should try to match the bottom of the snowman with the appropriate top of the snowman.

Snowman Steps and Skips –These flashcards drill steps and skips.  Print them out on cardstock, then cut off the bottom of the snowman.  The student will try to match the step or skip on the top of the snowman to one of the step or skip bottoms.  This one is especially revealing because several of the flashcards have a LH C and and RH D on them, which is a step, but sometimes students mistake as a skip.

Snowman White Keys – These are great for helping beginning piano students identify notes on the keyboard.

Snowman Intervals – Help students visually recognize intervals and match the bottom of the snowman with the picture of the interval to the top of the snowman with the name of the interval.

  1. Dear Julie,

Thank you ever so much for letting me know so that I could fix it. You should be able to click on the button now and download it. Please contact me (see contact page that’s linked in the footer) if you have any more trouble! Thanks again!

  2. I just wanted to mention that I love these snowmen for my January group lessons. I think another version I would love would be Key Signature snowmen. The key signature in the middle, the Major key on the bottom and the minor key on the top. This would be perfect for my intermediate, advanced students!

  3. Hi Wendy, thank you for making this available. I tried to follow the link to the flashcards, but unfortunately received the holiday tune flashcards instead. The direct link from the resources tab also does not work. Do you think this can be fixed?

  4. Hi Lia,

I’m sure we can fix this if you can send an email to support @ composecreate.com, I’m sure we can figure it out for you!
