The 2016 All is Calm Pieces Are HERE!

NEW: In the Bleak Midwinter – Piece 4 of 13

There’s something magical about the simplicity of this melody and the lyrics by Christina Rosetti. It’s one of the pieces that when I’ve played from the collection, I get the most interesting comments from listeners about the impact that it has. And I know it’s having that affect on others who play and listen because In the Bleak Midwinter has become one of the most requested pieces from the collection.

NEW: Ding Dong Merrily On High – Piece 5 of 13

There’s a “story behind the story” in this piece! Several of the pieces in this collection are so playful and fun that I imagine that there is this wonderful celebration going on with angels singing all around! But, if you look a little past the first row of angels, you can see a couple of ornery boy angels that are singing indeed, but in their own playful and ornery way. You might even imagine that they are getting into a little mischief!

If you have the All is Calm, All is Bright book (which is currently out of print which is why we are re-releasing them), you might do a “Where’s Waldo” hunt for these angels. In what other pieces do you hear these little ornery boy angels? We’ll probably release another one next year but this is the orneriest of the 2016 All is Calm release!

NEW: Infant Holy, Infant Lowly – Piece 6 of 13

There’s something crisp, clean, and sparkling in this arrangement of Infant Holy, Infant Lowly. When I’m playing, I imagine that it’s the star hanging over the manger in its bright and almost blue hue. You can almost hear Baby Jesus growing up through the piece as in unfolds.
